With a registered buying list going well beyond last year’s, the writing was on the wall for a positive sale for Little Meadows Angus and this was certainly the case when the final numbers were crunched at the on-property bull sale in Dardanup. Thirty two registered buyers pushed prices to a high of $7000 and helped 34 sires out of the 40 offered sell under the hammer at an average of $4632 which was up $523 on last year. First time buyer James Morton, MG Edwards & Co, Gingin, who was assisted by Primaries Muchea representative Rhys Hebberman, purchased the $7000 top-priced bull, Little Meadows Juan J66.
Just one small bid away from matching Mr Mortons bid were Wilga Angus breeders Richard and Robyn Walker, when they secured LM Jindabyne J86 for $6750. The Walkers also paid $4750 for LM Jump Your Bones J10. Loyal, return clients Brad and Michael Telini, Dardanup, who run 420 Angus and Murray Grey cross breeders didn’t leave empty handed. They secured three bulls including one at the $6500 equal third top price. The brothers also paid $6000 and $5500. Landmark Jamie Abbs paid the $6500 equal third top price on two occasions for RW Manners Pty Ltd, Donnybrook. Return buyer Owen Hopkins, HM & OE Hopkins, Busselton, secured the final bull at $6500 while also purchasing its twin brother for $5500. Fellow long-term clients Peter Hough, 5PH Grazing, Esperance, was another multiple buyer paying $5500 and $5000 for his selections.
